Wall Traveling Jib Crane for Workshop Material Handling

A wall traveling jib crane is installed on elevated rails fixed to workshop walls, concrete columns or steel columns. The complete crane travels longitudinally along the wall, the jib provides transverse coverage and the electric hoist lifts vertically. This three-axis movement creates a practical material-handling system for workstations located along the workshop perimeter.

What Is a Wall Traveling Jib Crane?

Unlike a fixed wall-mounted jib crane, a wall traveling model can move along a runway to serve multiple workstations. It uses the existing building structure and normally requires no ground foundation, helping keep floor aisles clear.

The crane is often used together with a main overhead crane: the overhead crane handles large or heavy loads across the full bay, while the wall traveling jib crane manages smaller components and frequent transfers close to the wall.

A Three-Dimensional Handling Network

The longitudinal, transverse and vertical movement pattern expands the working range beyond the radius of a fixed jib. It can cover narrow strip areas close to the wall and turn previously underused perimeter space into productive lifting coverage.

Because the equipment remains above floor level, it does not block forklifts, personnel aisles or production machines. The rail length and jib reach can be selected around the actual workstation layout.

Core Advantages for Workshop Production

Save Floor Space and Improve Layout

For factories with limited floor area or densely arranged machines, a wall traveling crane can widen aisles and free space for additional processing equipment or storage.

Connect Multiple Workstations

The crane is suitable for short-distance, high-frequency lifting. Longitudinal travel allows one unit to serve several stations along the same production line.

Factory-Direct Customization

Henan Mine provides site surveying, engineering, manufacturing, installation and after-sales support. Lifting capacity, rail length, jib reach, lifting height, rotation method and control mode can be customized. Typical light-duty configurations range from approximately 1 to 5 tonnes, subject to the building structure and project requirements.

Intelligent Control and Safety Protection

Manual or electric rotation and remote control can be selected according to the operating frequency. Electric rotation reduces operator effort, while remote control helps personnel maintain a safer distance from suspended loads.

High-strength hollow-section jibs reduce self-weight while maintaining reach. Chain electric hoists, travel limiters, end stops and other project-specific safety devices support stable and controlled handling.

Get a Wall Traveling Crane Layout

Provide the workshop column spacing, runway elevation, rail length, lifting capacity, jib reach and load-bearing information for the wall or steel columns. Henan Mine engineers can calculate the loads and prepare an installation layout and quotation.

FAQs

How is a wall traveling jib crane different from a fixed wall-mounted jib crane?

A fixed model operates only within its jib radius. A wall traveling jib crane moves along wall-mounted rails, extending coverage across multiple workstations.

What building conditions are required?

The wall or steel columns must provide adequate load-bearing capacity. Civil loads and connection details must be verified before installation.

Can the rail be extended later?

A segmented modular runway can be extended when the building structure and process layout permit. The added runway and supporting structure must be checked by engineers.
