Description

Crane Gearbox is an important transmission component in crane systems. It connects the motor with the hoisting, trolley travelling, or crane travelling mechanism, reducing motor speed while increasing output torque to support stable crane movement and heavy-load lifting operation.

The gearbox is commonly used in bridge cranes, gantry cranes, container cranes, yard cranes, rubber tired gantry cranes, hoists, trolleys, and other power-driven lifting equipment. According to the working position, it can be selected for hoisting motion, cross travel, or long travel applications.

A crane gearbox normally works through a set of meshing gears inside the housing. The motor output shaft transmits power to the gearbox input shaft, the internal gear ratio changes speed and torque, and the output shaft delivers controlled power to the crane mechanism. A properly selected gearbox helps improve operating stability, load handling capability, positioning performance, and service life.

For crane applications, gearbox selection should consider motor power, output torque, gear ratio, installation form, shaft arrangement, duty cycle, working environment, lubrication, sealing, noise control, and maintenance access. For replacement projects, the existing gearbox model, nameplate, mounting dimensions, shaft size, and working mechanism should be confirmed before quotation.
