Description
Monorail Overhead Cranes Overview
Monorail Overhead Cranes are a type of crane system used as an alternative to conventional cranes and conveyor belts. They are mainly used to relocate materials or products within a limited working area, such as a factory, workstation or production line.
The monorail crane design is simple and can be compatible with the building structure without major changes. The crane can enter the building or factory through ceiling columns or an added monorail beam to support the trolley. Depending on the building structure and lifting requirement, the trolley can run on the beam or hang below the beam.
A monorail crane hoist is attached to the trolley and can use a steel cable or chain for lifting, lowering and suspending loads to the designated location. The system provides hook movement in four directions: up and down through the hoist, and forward and backward along the monorail beam.
Monorail Overhead Cranes are suitable for continuous non-reloading transportation and fixed-path material movement. They can run on flat and inclined roads, and can also be designed for vertical curves, horizontal curves and complex routes according to the working site.
